Peoples First’s Dale Sanders Participates in Jazz for Japan

Although York County is nearly 7000 miles away from the earthquake that struck Japan, there are plenty of of people here willing to help the victims of the March 11 disaster. On Sunday, March 27, the Tropical Escape Cafe in Rock Hill hosted “Jazz for Japan,” a benefit that helped raise money for the American Red Cross for their Japan relief efforts.

Musicians played Jazz music during dinner, and local celebrities and members of the community served as greeters and guest waiters throughout the night. In addition to donations made during the event, twenty percent of Tropical Escape’s gross sales for the entire day went to the Japan relief fund.

One of Peoples First’s very own, Dale Sanders, participated in this event. Dressed as Sarah Palin, she greeted patrons as they entered the restaurant and refilled the drinks of those who were seated. She even posed for pictures. The entire event raised over $2,400 for relief efforts, which is in addition to the $10,000 that has already been donated locally to the Red Cross. Thank you, Dale, for participating in such a great event!
