James D. Galloway, Jr. (Jimmy) is a Rock Hill native. He is a graduate of Winthrop Training School. After graduating from Winthrop he earned his BS degree in Business Administration at The Citadel, in Charleston, SC. From January 1952-February 1954, Jimmy served in the US Army, on active duty.

In 1954 he joined First Insurance Agency; they sent him to Philadelphia to attend Insurance Agent Schooling, where he graduated from the Insurance Company of North America. This was the start of his dedicated career to the insurance industry. Thirty-one years later, in 1985, First Insurance Agency partnered with Peoples Trust Company to become Peoples First Insurance. Jimmy has served as president/CEO since that partnership took place in 1985, until recently when his grandson, Alexander Galloway, assumed the role of president. He enjoys working with his staff, clients and the insurance markets.

His hobbies include hunting and fly fishing. He is married to Erika Coulson and together they have three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
